They have indie awards now

Does winning prizes makes you less indie? But what if the prize itself if an indie one? Well, look at this years Mercury Music Prize. For those not in the know, the Mercury Music Prize was set up by a bunch of people who thought the other music prizes weren't indie enough and only rewarded popularity not musical awesomeness.



This year's winners, Elbow, are indeed awesome. Check out their stuff here and here. It only took them 18 years to get some nice recognition of what their doing. Now that's indie.

aw... Elbow, i still remember picking up their fist album after seeing them at witness. their subsequent albums where better it think.
